Portofino in Italy is one of my favourite places in the world! So when David and Annabelle came to me and said how much they love it also and that they’d love to plan a 3 day wedding there for their family and friends to celebrate with them I was so excited.
Day 1 we held a welcome dinner at O Magasin, a restaurant in the Piazza of Portofino. We had crates of lemons around the tables and on the tables to enhance the Italian feel.
Day 2 rather than being the wedding day, David and Annabelle wanted a fun day with their family and friends. We booked sunbeds at Paraggi, the local beach and lunch in a private area at Langosteria, an incredible seafood restaurant that sits right on the beach.
Day 3 was the wedding day! We decided on Castello Brown which overlooks the entire bay of Portofino for the location of the ceremony, dinner and party. Logistically this was one of the most challenging venues we have worked at. No cars are allowed up to the castle and so we had a strict schedule of porterage to carry all equipment and furniture up by hand from the square – this involved lots of planning to ensure everything was perfect. After the guests were escorted from the square by a traditional Italian roaming band, their ceremony took place in the beautiful gardens. The dinner was on the terrace looking directly down to the square. After the sunset the party started and guests danced the night away!
